Technician

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Technician, Central Sterile Supply Room.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Packing, sealing and labeling instruments' packs and trays
• Monitoring sterilization of dressings, linen, micro surgical instrument trays and equipment as per the department policy and procedure
• Operating and monitoring washing machine, dryers, sterilizers or any other machinery used in central sterile services department
• Assisting in & monitoring routine quality control tests required for sterilization
• Monitoring the stock level of detergents, disinfectants, glove powder, etc. and refill any when necessary
• Replenishing stock of consumables in the packing area from the bulk store when required
• Reporting any malfunctioning of equipment/ instruments to the supervisor
• Dispatching appropriate formulae to the unit as per requirement
• Assisting Chargehand to manage workload and monitoring the performance of Health Care Assistant to teach them required skill(s)
• Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

You should have:

• Matriculation; Intermediate would be preferred
• 3-4 years of related work experience 
• Ability to organize work
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Understanding of Sterilization & Disinfection Service practices and techniques.
