Job Details

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is responsible for the University of Southampton's engagement and fundraising programmes. We raise philanthropic income from individuals, trusts, foundations and companies to support transformative research, our students' experience and enterprise activities. We completed our first campaign, a £25 million fundraising campaign for a new Centre for Cancer Immunology in February 2018.  The Centre is the first of its kind in the UK and among an elite group world-wide. Following a ground-swell of support from our community, we are now preparing for a potential £100m campaign. This role is an exciting opportunity to develop your career by being a part of our future campaign, working with existing donors and to enjoy working in a friendly and professional team.

We are looking for an administrator, preferably with experience of stewarding existing donors and retaining their support. This role will focus on ensuring donations are spent in accordance with donor wishes, co-ordinating scholarship recipients, and understanding the impact of gifts to report back to donors.

This is an engaging, interesting and strategically important role and we are particularly keen to encourage applications from within and outside of the fundraising sector.

We encourage informal discussions about the role if this will inspire you to apply - so please contact Bridget Brook, Operations Support Officer on b.brook@soton.ac.uk

Application procedure

You should submit your completed online application form at https://jobs.soton.ac.uk. The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above. If you need any assistance, please call Georgie Warren (Recruitment Team) on +44 (0) 23 8059 7749. Please quote reference 1090818CD on all correspondence.

Please note: The University Recruitment department will be closed from close of business on Thursday 20th December 2018 to Wednesday 2nd January 2019, so we will not be able to assist you with any application queries during this time.

We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Please note that applications from agencies will not be accepted unless indicated in the job advert.
