Postdoctoral Research Fellow (AUS FAB Test Manager) - Bioengineering and Nanotechnology

The role

The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Research Fellow (AUS FAB Test Manager) is to cultivate and perform extensive sampling of yeast mutants in bioreactors in a collaborative project between the AIBN and an industry-leader in biotechnology, Amyris. You will join a team seeking to establish a high-throughput workflow for the fermentation, characterisation, analysis and design of yeast mutants. You will be responsible for planning and managing the experimental side of the project, including performing yeast fermentations in instrumented fermenters (up to 8 simultaneously).

The person

Applicants should have a PhD in the area of Biological Sciences, Chemical/Biological Engineering or related field with subsequent relevant experience. You will have demonstrated expertise in running instrumented bioreactors with the ability to plan experiments in detail to effectively manage simultaneous fermentations. Your high level interpersonal skills, demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work flexibly and with autonomy make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 18 months at Research Academic Level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $83,295 - $89,285 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $97,456 - $104,464 p.a.).
