Postdoc position on necking and ductile fracture criterion development for deep drawing operations

Mondragon University offers a post-doctoral position for further improvement of the existing state of the art criteria for the evaluation of necking and fracture during deep drawing operations. The focus will be to develop/adjust necking and fracture criteria at the laboratory level and to implement these criteria in a stamping tool design procedure for an industrial benchmark case.

The post-doc position is supported by industrial partners and a global industrial project for stamping tooling optimization. The Post-Doc will be developed under the supervision of Dr.Otegi, Dr. Saenz de Argandoña, Dr. Galdos and Dr. Mendiguren.

Universal testing machines (INSTRON and servo-hydraulic MTS)

Biaxial testing machine (yield criteria, 250 Kn each axis)

Pure shear and tension-compression tester, bulge tester

ISO standard Marciniak and Nakajima tester/ISO standard Hole expansion tester

GOM ARAMIS 5M hardware Tribological testing

Strip drawing tester/Duncal Shabel tester

ForgeFixhammer peening head

SENSOFAR PLμ optical 3D surface profiler + ALICONA Infinite Focus IG4

 

Metal forming facilities

4000 kN FAGOR servo-mechanical press

2000 kN GAMEI Hidraulic Press

1500 kN GAMEI Mechanical Press CONDITIONS

 

Other equipment

The Post-Doc will also have access to transversal equipment such as SEM, EBSD, workstations, Autoform, Pam-Stamp

 

Conditions:

The position is opened for one year (2nd-year contract extension possible)

Gross salary of 39.862 €/year

The location of the position is Arrasate-Mondragon, 20500, Spain

 

Candidate skills:

Proven experience in sheet metal forming simulation software

Fracture and necking related knowledge (proven by scientific papers or supporting letters)

The experimental testing experience and subroutine coding will be taken into consideration
