Job Details
The Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi is proud to have qualified and dedicated Team of Surgeons, Medical, Nursing and Allied professionals within the Service Line - Eye and ENT. Using state-of-the-art equipment helps to identify, diagnose and treat Eye and ENT related problems. The Section of Ophthalmology offers a variety of surgical treatment procedures like cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, glaucoma drainage surgery, mid face reconstruction and cosmetic surgery, squint surgery, retinal detachment surgery. Procedures like cochlear implants, reconstructive surgery post trauma or cancer head and neck surgery are unique to ENT. Based on these specialised procedures, patients are accommodated in the out-patient as well as the in-patient areas. The service line believes in innovation, exemplary care and access to services for all.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
- assist consultants in conducting assigned outpatient clinics as per operational needs
- provide direct patient care as well at a relatively complex level and supervise coordination of care
- avoid any possible delay or lapse in the case treatment by demonstrating good clinical and communication skills
- assist consultants in different Ophthalmology-related procedures
- effectively collect, interpret and utilize data of the assigned unit for organizational use
- gain confidence of the patients and their families through clinical care, empathy and professional conduct.
Requirements
You should have:
- MBBS degree with at least twelve years of experience OR completed MCPS/FCPS-I or any other additional Diploma with at least eight years of experience in the same field and a valid PMDC license
- good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
- proficiency in the use of computers, particularly basic knowledge of the MS Office applications
- ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
- willingness to work in shift duties and for extended hours as per needs.
