Job Details

The University of Bristol are looking to appoint a professional Executive Assistant for their Quantum Engineering Technology (QET) Labs, based in the School of Physics and Faculty of Engineering.

You will be a highly experienced professional Executive Assistant and will provide support to the Head of Group, the Centre Manager and other senior academic staff and colleagues.

This varied role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team of professional services staff supporting a dynamic and world-leading research group. Principal duties will include acting as first point of contact for enquiries from internal and external contacts including industrial partners, international research collaborators and funding bodies; diary management; delegated responsibility for routine office procedures and staff and student support.

Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent administrative experience, you will have excellent organisational and IT skills; an eye for detail and accuracy; a willingness to assist as required to support this diverse research group; and an ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities on short timescales.

You must be comfortable working alongside academics, researchers and postgraduate students, be good at building effective relationships with colleagues you don't see every day and be confident to enable you to complete the required tasks.

You will need to work within certain procedures defined by the University, so confidence and an ability to work on your own initiative are essential.
