Job Details
The Library is integral to achieving world-class scholarship at The University of Queensland. The Library's staff work in partnership with the academic and hospital community to provide convenient access to quality information, and to manage and provide access to UQ scholarship. The Library provides information services that are customisable to individual needs and which recognise disciplinary perspectives and their information requirements. The Library engages with the community to foster scholarship and strengthens the culture of collaboration and partnership within the University.
The role
The successful appointee will work within a team to provide a range of Library support services. The position is responsible for the digitisation and post processing of a range of formats of material (print, maps, charts, photographs etc.) including rare material. The duties of this position will require the successful appointee to: scan documents; process images; produce output files; enter files; tag PDFs for accessibility and upload to various systems; create descriptions for digital objects following existing standards and workflows; and assist in the maintenance of library system records in UQ eSpace. The person
Applicants should possess relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Progress towards or completion of a Diploma of Library and Information Services (Library Technician or equivalent) is highly desirable. The applicant should be proficient in a range of software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Internet searching techniques, Photo, media & text editing software, Adobe Acrobat DC). The applicant should also possess excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills as well as knowledge of automated library systems or comparable information technology, with the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of specialised software including multimedia software.

Remuneration
This role is a part-time, (26 hours per week) fixed term appointment at HEW level 3. The fixed term appointment is for approximately 9 months and is located at the St Lucia campus. The remuneration package will be in the range of $38,760.86 to $42,891.16 plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%.
