Job Details
The School of Social Science conducts research and offers courses in criminology, anthropology, archaeology, and sociology. It is one of the largest schools of its type in Australia with over 45 academic staff, 9 professional staff, and around 900 equivalent full-time students. The School houses the Anthropology Museum and archaeology laboratories, and also has an outdoor site - The Archaeology Teaching & Research Centre.
The role
The Team Leader, Student Administration manages the School's student and academic administration and supervises the staff in this area. The team undertakes administrative duties for managing undergraduate and postgraduate courses and programs, including maintenance of grades, examinations, Electronic Course Profiles, prizes and scholarships, and online applications. The team also provides advice and support to academic staff and students. The Team Leader supports the Teaching & Learning Committee, assists with program/course rule changes and new course/program proposals, and is responsible for coordinating and inputting data for the academic timetable.
The person
Applicants should possess a undergraduate degree with subsequent relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. The successful applicant will have significant knowledge of, and university experience in, academic and student administration, along with experience in the supervision of staff and leading a team. Additionally applicants will have highly developed organisation and time management skills with a flexible approach to work and be able to deal with the peak periods of the academic year. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Remuneration
This is a full-time, continuing appointment HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $75, 957 - $81,714 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $88,869 - $95,605p.a.).
