SECTOR MANAGER: INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE AND BUILDING SERVICES (TWO POSTS)
PEROMNES POST LEVEL 10

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be required to plan, control and manage daily cleaning operations and optimum use of material and human resources. To achieve the objectives the Sector Manager must attend the following:

  • Manage the daily activities of cleaning staff;
  • Plan, organise and direct staff to ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction;
  • Daily inspections of dedicated facilities, record findings and recent deviances from specifications;
  • Ensure that the performance of cleaning service meets the Service Level Agreement;
  • Communicate information on inspection standards, problems, progress and success;
  • Assess customer requirements and ensure that these are met;
  • Ensure that all service complies with Health and Safety Standards, and that materials comply with SABS and ISO standards;
  • Provide and manage consumables/equipment;
  • Train new employees;
  • Manage special events.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12;
  • Five years' relevant cleaning experience or related experience;
  • Knowledge of and experience in operating cleaning equipment.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • Knowledge of cleaning cycle and procedures;
  • Knowledge of cleaning products application and hazardous products;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Appropriate language and communication skills;
  • Physical fitness and mobility;
  • Leadership skills.

 

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • Three years' experience in management/supervision.


The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent's level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
