Duties
  • Organizing and coordinating the experimental steps
  • Monitoring populations in a semi-natural context
  • Characterizing lizards for behavior and thermal phenotype
  • Conceiving and adapting protocols for experiments and population monitoring
  • Managing databases
  • Analyzing databases to estimate phenotypic plasticity and selection gradient
  • Molecular analyses (extraction, PCR)
  • Presenting results in meeting, seminars and conferences
  • Writing reports and scientific articles
  • The hired researcher will work on the ERC-CoG project ECOFEED which aims at studying the impacts of climate change on eco-evolutionary feedbacks
  • She/he will manage the monitoring of semi-natural populations of lizards undergoing climatic treatments
  • She/he will also contribute to the monitoring of ecological conditions in lizards habitats
  • Activities take place outdoor or in a research lab
  • Start between May 1st and 15th

 

Requirements

  • PhD in ecology or biology
  • Knowledge in methods for experiments, sampling and biological analyses
  • Knowledge in ecotherms' behavior and thermal phenotype
  • Knowledge in population biology and evolutionary processes
  • Knowledge in statistical analyses (software R, multivariate analyses, mixed models)
  • Knowledge in the maintenance and housing of small ectotherm vertebrates
  • Knowledge of the rules and recommendations for experiments in animals
  • Used experimental and sampling methods
  • Created experimental protocols
  • Managed a team of students
  • Independence, anticipating issues, leadership
  • Spoken and written English B2 to C1
  • All these skills are not required, but will help ranking applicants
