TECHNICAL SERVICE & DEVELOPMENT (TS&D)

This position is aimed at supporting customers in a variety of market segments (including Automotive, Medical and/or Sheet Extrusion with a primary focus on Polymers used in plastic applications

As a member of the Technical service team, you will also have responsibility for specific development projects, requiring interaction with R&D and TS&D colleagues in Europe and/or globally. You will need to work closely with sales, manufacturing and other functions within the organisation specifically with technical responsibility for a defined group of customers.

Prime Responsibilities:
You will be one of the main contact points for when clients need technical support on their products + product development within the lab.

* identifying and understanding the end use application needs
* identifying project opportunities, based on customer and market needs
* translating identified needs into product and application development opportunities
* developing and implementing new products, applications and fabrication technologies
* development projects to resolve critical quality issues
* developing an understanding of the competitive position
* supporting existing business

Education/Certification:
* Knowledge of polymers and/or polymer fabrication technologies, gained through a university-level education in Polymer Material Science, Fabrication Technology or Engineering, or closely related fields
* Fluency in English is mandatory and fluency in additional European languages would be beneficial
* Mobile and able to travel, essentially within Europe, for up to 25%
* Minimum education level should be M.Sc. in Polymer, Chemical or Mechanical engineering, with 2 - 5 years' experience in polymer processing, extrusion and/or compounding being preferred.
