Job summary

The Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health aims to support the introduction, scale-up and further piloting of high quality and high impact interventions to improve Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) in Pakistan by harnessing the potential of both public and private sectors, coupled with introduction of women and girls empowerment intervention

The Umeed-e-Nau (UeN) initiative of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Women and Child Health aims to support the introduction, scale-up and further piloting of high quality and high impact interventions to improve Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) in Pakistan by harnessing the potential of both public and private sectors, coupled with introduction of women and girls empowerment interventions. UeN has two major components; one is to introduce proven effective MNCAH interventions and the second is to generate evidence through innovative approaches to improve MNCAH while included in the public health programme in Pakistan. The title of the project being carried out is “Impact of Pulse Oximetry on Hospital Referral Acceptance in children under 5 with severe pneumonia”. 

Responsibilities

You will be expected to work with the supervisor on the research project in order to investigate and establish its aims and objectives. The core responsibilities will be to:

  • independently conduct interviews and write-up detailed notes on interviews and observation visits
  • manage field work process to ensure effective use of time
  • facilitate meetings among the research team
  • liaison with administrative staff regarding logistics for field work
  • follow and ensure field implementation of project related SOPs and guidelines.

 

Requirements

Your should have:

  • at least a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, preferably a Master's degree
  • at least one year of relevant experience preferably in leading field surveys and supervising field operations
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • ability to work effectively in teams
  • good interpersonal skills
  • resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
  • willingnes to work in community setting.
