Job Details

Do you have a background in Psychology or Behavioural Sciences, with strong writing and analytical skills?

Are you looking for a research career with the chance to conduct cutting-edge research in human factors of vehicle automation?

Would you like to join the world-leading multidisciplinary team at the Institute for Transport Studies, working on a range of projects in this context?

The Human Factors and Safety Research Group at the Institute for Transport Studies is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a portfolio of current research projects which seeks to understand both the human factors opportunities and challenges of automated vehicles. Working closely with this world-leading team on both European and UK-funded projects, and with access to the Institute's world-leading Driving Simulator Suite, you will be encouraged to develop your own research portfolio in this area, working alongside our external stakeholders and industry partners. We are looking for a post-doctoral research fellow to join our team, initially contributing to the European funded interACT project, which is investigating pedestrian interaction with automated vehicles, using both human-in-the-loop simulation and real-road testing. In addition to planning new studies, and analysing results for dissemination, you will have the opportunity to develop your research own interests in this area, receiving support for preparation of new funding proposals.

To explore the post further or for any queries you may have, please contact: Professor Natasha Merat, Research Group Leader for Human Factors and Safety Tel: +44 (0)113 343 6614, email: N.Merat@its.leeds.ac.uk
