Job Details
The School of Mathematics and Physics is a School within the Faculty of Science at the University of Queensland. The Discipline of Mathematics is located in the School of Mathematics and Physics. It is the leading provider of tertiary mathematics education in Queensland. Undergraduate programs offered are BMath, BSc, BA (each with an Honours year) and BAdvSci; Coursework degrees (MSc, MFinMath, MDataSc) and research degrees (MPhil and PhD) are offered at postgraduate level.
The Discipline is internationally recognised for its research excellence and hosts a number of first class research centres. Research is carried out at the cutting edge across a broad spectrum of areas in Mathematics and Statistics.
The position is based at the St. Lucia campus of The University of Queensland, one of the most spacious and attractive university campuses in Australia. The campus is centrally located near major public transport routes.

The role
The successful appointee will conduct research in the area of quantum bioscience and nanomechanics within a dynamic research team led by Professor Warwick Bowen.
The person
Applicants should possess qualifications in physics, engineering or similar with experience in the field of experimental precision biosensing and nanomechanics. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career in optics and precision sensing, a strong methodological background, excellent statistical and analytic skills together with strong writing abilities, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

Remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Research Academic level A for three years. The remuneration package will be in the range $83,295.80- $89,285.83 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $97,456 - $104,464 p.a.).
