The Aga Khan University Hospital invites application for the position of Staff Medical Officer, Anaesthesiology

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• Evaluate patient initially, investigate and manage to ensure appropriate and timely disposition
• Perform relatively complex procedures as per the defined protocols and permission granted
• Guide and assist Interns, Residents and junior medical staff in the initial evaluation, investigation and management of patients
• Make clinical decisions in indirect supervision to be endorsed by Consultant (if required)
• Display effective and relevant documentation with quality record keeping of clinical notes, progress notes and discharge summaries as required
• Ensure that patients are given correct medications / instructions and explain their health care needs.
• Participate in teaching activities of the department
• Continually work toward enhancing competencies in a clinical setting under supervision of Consultants and other faculty and staff
• Participate in training of Interns, Residents and junior staff to enhance their skills and competencies
• Attend and participate regularly in teaching sessions and ensure bedside teaching of medical students
• Keep aware of infection control practices and follow the same in workplace.

Requirements

You should have:

• At least 12 years post-MBBS related experience with one year house job OR 2 years after FCPS, or 3 years after MCPS
• a valid license from Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)
• an ability to work independently and with teams
• an ability to work under pressure on different rotations/shifts
• strong interpersonal and communication skills
