The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) incorporates three schools - UQ Business School, the School of Economics and the TC Beirne School of Law - and two research centres - the Australian Institute for Business and Economics (AIBE) and the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH).

With more than 450 staff and 12,000 enrolled students, including 5600 international students, the BEL Faculty is UQ's largest.

The Faculty offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the St Lucia campus. It also operates UQ Brisbane City, the University's newest site in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. Home to students and professionals from select postgraduate programs and UQ Executive Education courses, UQ Brisbane City is a unique space where students, alumni, industry and government can create, connect and innovate.

The Role

The Advancement Officer will lead the development, implementation, execution of strategies to grow the BEL Faculty's portfolio of leadership level ($1,000 - $49,999) donors for the Faculty's Deans Society. This professional will also be maintaining a robust schedule of alumni visits for the purpose of discovery and major donor qualification. As a key partner of the BEL Faculty's Deans Society expansion and retention efforts, the Advancement Officer will have the the opportunity to work with some of the University's and BEL Faculty's most significant stakeholders.

 

The Person

The successful candidate will offer;

  • a proven track record relationship management as a self-motivated and target driven professional;
  • the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a strong sense of urgency coupled with demonstrated success in management and organisation of multiple priorities;
  • outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including effective presentation skills. Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through strong phone, email and written communications;
  • demonstrated ability to be effective in a variety of formal presentation settings including one-on-one, small and large groups;
  • ability to use creativity, reasoning, past experience, information and available resources to resolve issues in a timely manner;
  • ability to build and maintain effective relationships with client/donors and colleagues through influence skills while gaining trust and respect; and
  • demonstrated ability on client/donor focus and proven adaptability to different personality types.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $83,633 - $91,350 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $97,850 - $106,879 p.a.).
