Job Details
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our research team. Research nurse are available for the ‘ATLANTIS' study (Amitriptyline at Low-dose and Titrated for Irritable Bowel Syndrome as Second-line Treatment) within the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences, University of Leeds. The role will involve participant recruitment, screening and follow up for the ATLANTIS trial, a multicentre trial placebo controlled randomised controlled trial led by the University of Leeds to assess the effectiveness of amitriptyline for Irritable bowel syndrome. Tasks will include recruitment, screening and follow up appointments including phlebotomy for the screening blood tests.
The work will be carried out under the supervision of the local investigators, Sarah Alderson, NIHR Lecturer in General Practice, and Robbie Foy, Professor of Primary Care. The co-principal investigators are Alex Ford, Professor of Gastroenterology, and Hazel Everitt, Associate Professor of Primary Care (University of Southampton).The study is funded by the NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme.
You will be a registered nurse with an interest in primary care research. You will have demonstrated your ability to work independently and efficiently in a research context, and will have excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise tasks and good attention to detail.
