Senior Research Fellow - Palliative Care

Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to lead the day to day set up, organisation and project management of an NIHR HSDR funded study investigating the potential for eye donation (ED) from palliative and hospice care settings in England.

Responsibilities include

• To manage the day to day operational delivery of this 36-month, three phase mixed methods study into the potential for eye donation in six palliative and hospice care settings across England.
• In collaboration with the Chief Investigator and liaison with the full time Research Fellow and part time administrator the SRF will have responsibility for ensuring: day to day progress of the project including primary and secondary data collection/analysis, generation of reports/publications and implementation of the dissemination strategy.
• The SRF will be responsible for overseeing procedures required to ensure accurate and timely formal reporting and financial control.
• The SRF will lead on liaison with external organisations including project sites, steering committees and associated academic facilities.
• The SRF will be a key member of the publication writing team.

To be successful in your application you will need to meet the requirements laid out in the job description which include extensive experience in mixed methods research including the use of survey and consensus methodologies. Field work including non-participant observation will require visits to six sites across England.

The post if offered full time until 31/12/2021 on a fixed term basis.
