Technical Assistant: (post level 12)

Duties and responsibilities:
- Install and handle temporary exhibitions, permanent collection and art projects.
- Coordinate exhibition logistics including transportation, insurance, consignment letters, invitations, etc.
- Assist in creating exhibition dossiers.
- Pack and store of artworks.
- Care and maintain of gallery spaces.
- Care and maintain of permanent art collection.
- Update, digitise and maintain database and cataloguing of artworks.
- Responsible for documentation of exhibitions and projects.
- Responsible for educational walkabouts, tours, etc.
Inherent requirements:
- Grade 12
- One (1) to two (2) years' relevant working experience in a gallery.
Required competencies:
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of installation and general care of artworks.
- Good knowledge in contemporary art.
- Computer skills
- Good interrelations.
- Basic research skills.
Recommendations:
- Degree or Diploma in the arts is preferable, as the candidate needs to have a solid understanding and knowledge in contemporary arts to be able to work with arts practitioners.
