School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences

The School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB) combines the disciplines of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Parasitology into a single academic unit. The School has modern research laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and research infrastructure. The School includes over 50 academic staff, who are widely published internationally and have extensive research backgrounds.

The role

The position will conduct research focussed on the design and synthesis of light-emitting dendrimers for use in organic light-emitting diode-based solid-state lighting. In this context organic includes both all-organic and/or organometallic materials.

The person

The applicant should possess a PhD or post-doctoral experience in a relevant area of synthetic chemistry. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career, good general research skills, a strong methodological background, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $$67,542 - $90,982 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $79,024 - $106,448 p.a.).
