Advanced Water Management Centre
The Advanced Water Management Centre (AWMC) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in innovative water technology and management. The Centre has an outstanding worldwide reputation in urban water management and related fields, and an award winning multidisciplinary team delivers practical technological solutions underpinned by fundamental scientific discoveries.
The Centre has six interlinked programs namely, next generation urban water technologies, integrated urban water management, sewer corrosion and odour management, nexus of urban water, health and environment, resource efficient agri-industry and environmental biotechnology.

The role
The AWMC is currently undertaking research projects funded by the Australian Research Council and multiple industry partners, focusing on sewer corrosion and odour management, and integrated urban water management. These projects require extensive scientific investigation into the corrosion of concrete and metal materials in the sewer environment.
The role of the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be to undertake research and supporting activities with the AWMC Sewer Research team to perform in-depth studies on H2S-induced concrete and metal corrosion using corrosion chambers, pilot-scale sewers, and field studies in close collaboration with industry partners.
The person
Applicants should possess a PhD in environmental-, civil or chemical engineering related to water/wastewater infrastructure or treatment. You should have demonstrated experience/skills in working with laboratory/pilot/full-scale sewer systems and associated safety requirements. Other required skills include minerals and microbial analysis methods. You should have the demonstrated ability to collaborate with research teams and industry partners, and to publish high quality reports and academic papers.

Remuneration
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,227 - $90,982 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $92,167 - $106,449 p.a.).
