The School of Chemical Engineering is a diverse and highly successful School, recognised as a key area of strength for UQ. The School's research and teaching crosses traditional boundaries in areas such as bioengineering, chemical engineering science, energy, environment, food, materials, metallurgy and minerals processing, to advance professions, build linkages with industry and create impact.

We are seeking an outstanding new Head of School. Reporting to the Executive Dean of the Faculty, the Head of School will provide strategic and operational leadership and oversight of the academic, research and administrative activities of the School, in collaboration with the senior leadership team. Primary objectives will include engaging with external partners and internal stakeholders, providing expert direction in the development and delivery of innovative research, funding, high quality teaching and commercialisation opportunities.

The Head of School will leverage the School's significant new flagship space due for completion in 2021, new infrastructure that characterises the philosophy of integrating innovative teaching with interdisciplinary and solutions-focused research.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and inspiring leader of world-class standing, with the capability to drive research and education excellence in an interdisciplinary context. The Head of School will foster a culture of collegiality and develop and mentor staff to ensure the School's continued success, while promoting the School, Faculty and University at a national and international level.
