Job Details

Founded over a hundred years ago, the University of Bristol has revolutionised society with its cutting-edge research and education. An international powerhouse of learning, discovery and enterprise, the University's excellence is acknowledged locally, nationally and globally. As a Russell Group university ranked in the top 50 universities in the world (QS 2018), Bristol's future will be as remarkable as its past.

We are recruiting for a Gift Allocations Officer to join our dynamic, highly respected and fast-growing Development and Alumni Relations (DARO) team. DARO's vision is to ' unite our global community to inspire positive change and transform people's lives '. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly successful team at a time of extraordinary growth and success. You will oversee DARO's Gift Administration function, working closely with colleagues in DARO, Finance and across the University to identify philanthropic income, ensuring that donations are processed in an accurate and timely manner, that funds are distributed in line with donor wishes, and that all philanthropic income is treated in line with best practice expectations and requirements. You will take responsibility for the reporting of received philanthropic income across the University. In collaboration with colleagues across DARO, you will identify and act on opportunities to streamline and improve the efficiency and reliability of our gift administration processes, and ensure that they adhere to legislative and best practice guidelines at all times. You will be supported by the Gift Data and Reporting Officer, who you will manage, support and develop.

With a customer focussed outlook, you will have experience of working in a financial or administrative capacity in a large, complex organisation, ideally in a fundraising environment. You will have a logical approach, with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills and the proven ability to work to multiple deadlines. You will be an ambassador for our database and the use of data in building plans and strategies. You will have a strong belief in the importance of universities to society, and a good working knowledge of fundraising and financial regulation, policies and guidelines.

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world's leading universities.
