Job Details

Working with the Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Digital Health and Care, the CDT Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of administration whilst contributing to the strategic and operational development of the Centre, including establishing/developing the CDT's ethos, framework, committee structure and operating procedures.

The Manager is a key figure for the Centre, working with and supporting the CDT Director and the CDT leadership team. In this formative stage for this extremely multidisciplinary Centre, this is a particular opportunity to develop new organisational ideas and to work with diverse stakeholders across three Bristol Faculties, the NHS and with the Centre's many industry partners.

This is an exciting opportunity within a vibrant and newly-established Centre, working out of a suite of attractively-refurbished offices alongside staff and students at Cathedral Square, adjacent to and overlooking Bristol Cathedral.

As part of a bustling and expanding Centre, the Manager will be a central part of a highly-experienced team. Team working will be an important and daily part of the experience however the postholder will also be expected to work independently, making key decisions when necessary and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Centre on such issues as strategic and operational planning; liaison with external partners including funding bodies; supervising the CDT Administrator administering student records; managing Centre finances, overseeing recruitment throughout its cycle; timetabling; and event management.

The post is offered for 3 years in the first instance however the Centre is funded for five intakes of students from September 2019 and hence there is opportunity for extension.
