Are you an enthusiastic and driven individual with an eye for detail who enjoys developing new processes?
Would you like to contribute to creating a framework for a major research institution to interpret terms of agreements and contracts for grant income?
Alumni and Development Office (ADO) develop relationships with supporters, enabling them to further the University's impact through gifts of time, expertise and money, building a vibrant, engaged community that benefits the University, our students and our wider society. We are looking for someone to support the ADO with philanthropic qualification, working with colleagues across the University. The primary focus of this role is to obtain and review written agreements and terms & conditions associated with grant funding. With a view to establishing income as philanthropic (or charitable) you will consider whether common terms, conditions and clauses meet certain critera. Furthermore you will create guidance documentation to aid with interpreting future grant agreements based on your findings and case studies.
You will work in partnership with University colleagues in Research and Innovation Services (RIS) including faculty-based staff and, as appropriate, seek advice from the Legal Services and wider Innovation Services Teams. You will also liaise directly with academic staff in order to obtain contract paperwork. You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of contract structure and law along with a track record of drafting and reviewing contracts. You will also have the ability to work on your own initiative, to influence and reach decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also essential.
