Work Arrangements
Douglas College, in partnership with the Shanghai Institute of International Business and Economics (SUIBE), offers a degree in financial markets and investment management. The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration invites applications for Regular Probationary Finance Instructors commencing with the Fall 2019 semester. This position would be full time with the possibility of transitioning to Douglas College in future. Workload is assigned each year based on available sections. The language of instruction is English.
The candidate must be able to teach days and/or evenings and/or Saturdays at the Shanghai Institute of International Business and Economics in Shanghai, China. Douglas College employees posted in China are provided with a supplemental compensation package that includes accommodation and other considerations.

The Role
The Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration is seeking probationary regular Finance Instructor for our SUIBE program starting in the Fall 2019 term.
Responsibilities
The instructor(s) must be fully prepared to teach the following Finance courses:
-FINC 1230 Mathematics of Finance (second year)
-FINC 3305 International Financial Management (third year)
-FINC 2345 Corporate Finance
-FINC 3380 Financial Statement Analysis
-FINC 3360 Case Studies in Finance
-FINC 4360 Portfolio Management
-FINC 3390 Securities Analysis
-FINC 3370 Financial Intermediaries
-BUSN 2429: Business Statistics
The successful candidate will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress. You will plan, organize and teach learning activities. You will ensure students receive the knowledge, information and resources to succeed by maintaining a quality, learner-centered approach to post-secondary education.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
The successful candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada and meet the following criteria:
- To possess a PhD, have ABD status, MBA or relevant Master degree from a recognized institution.
- Be able to teach others for whom English is not a first language.
- Possess five years of recent relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrate an excellent ability to teach at the post-secondary level with preference given to candidates with International teaching experience.
- Possess excellent communication skills with emphasis on intercultural communications.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Possess competence in computer applications and educational technologies.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a proven track record of teaching Internationally at the post-secondary level, have relevant industry experience, and/or who have a PhD.
