Job Details

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Creating of Modules on UFS Learning Management System.
  • Registration of academic staff in specific modules on the UFS Learning Management System.
  • Registration of support staff in specific modules on the UFS Learning Management System.
  • Registration of students (PeopleSoft) in specific modules on the UFS Learning Management System.
  • Provide first line support to Learning Designer regarding access to modules on UFS Learning Management System.
  • Provide general system administration (LMS) as required.
  • Follow divisional procedure regarding module administration on the UFS Learning Management System.


Training administration
  • Assist Learning Designers in preparation, implementation and evaluation of training workshops regarding the use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Provide administrative support in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of training and workshops regarding the use of technology in teaching and learning.


Project administration
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support for various Curriculum Delivery research projects


General office administration
  • Provide general administrative support to the relevant Learning and Designer.


E-learning module development
  • Preparation and development of all content on UFS Learning Management System as needed.
  • Development of all assessment activities on the UFS Learning Management System as needed.
  • Development of all collaboration activities on the UFS Learning Management System as needed.
  • Provide first line support to the Learning Designer regarding the development of course material and activities.
  • Follow divisional procedure regarding the development of modules on the UFS Learning Management System


Trouble shooting
  • Attend to problems relating to the development of learning material and activities on the UFS Learning Management System.
  • Provide first line technical support and troubleshooting in use of UFS Learning Management System.
  • Follow divisional procedure regarding the reporting and follow-up of technical problems and troubleshooting.


Inherent requirements:
  • Grade 12.
  • One (1) year relevant working experience.


Required competencies:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University's richly diverse working environment.
  • Language proficiency in the official language of the University.
  • Computer Skills MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Keep abreast with the day-to-day events and deadlines.
  • Be flexible and able to work under pressure.


Recommendations:
  • A post-school qualification.
  • One (1) year experience in the use of Learning Management System (LMS).
  • One (1) year experience in training and / or research administration.
  • One (1) year experience in higher education environment.
