Job Details

Training and development
  • Provide logical support in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of Academic Staff and Leadership Development, and Post-Graduate School related training workshops and events on the Qwaqwa campus.
  • Coordinate the internal CTL staff training and development program on the Qwaqwa campus.


Administration
  • Liaise with suppliers to get quotations for the Academic Staff and Leadership Development and Post-Graduate School on Qwaqwa Campus and submit related invoices for payment on time.
  • Perform a variety of general administrative tasks e.g. answering emails.
  • Refer all enquiries related to Academic Staff and Leadership development, and Post-Graduate School training events, to relevant support structures.
  • Liaise between the Centre for Teaching and Learning, Human Resources, Post-Graduate School, and other relevant UFS structures.
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers related to Academic Staff and Leadership development, and Post-Graduate School training initiatives and events on the Qwaqwa Campus.


Research
  • Provide administrative support towards research projects as part of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning on the Qwaqwa campus.


Inherent requirements:
  • Grade 12.


Required competencies:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University's richly diverse working environment.
  • Language proficiency in the official language of the University.
  • Basic skills of a learning management system (such as Blackboard, moodle)
  • The ability to function effectively as a member of a team, as well as independently.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer Skills MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Coordination and planning skills.
  • The ability to work accurately.


Recommendations:
  • One (1) year experience in higher education environment.
  • Experience in working with a Learning Management System (LMS).
